The Portable Altitude Chamber (PAC) is an effective, simple, durable, lightweight and affordable hyperbaric chamber for use at high altitude.
Rest easy in the knowledge that you can simulate descent in any situation, in any weather, at any time.
The treatment of severe altitude illness (HACE and HAPE) is descent. But if conditions do not allow for an immediate and effective descent, the use of a PAC simulates such a descent.
The hyperbaric chamber concept for simulating such descent has been around for more than 30 years. The PAC works by increasing the pressure inside the chamber using a foot pump.
The PAC is an Australian product, designed for trekking groups both private and commercial, as well as expeditions to high altitude.

PAC units can be rapidly sent to any destination worldwide by either of Australia Post services: Courier (ECI), express post,or standard post. PACs can also be sent by door-to-door courier.
To estimate the freight cost with Australia Post, please click on this direct link to the Australia Post Freight Calculator. Select the ‘overseas’ tab. Choose ‘Ballarat’ in the ‘from’ field and your country in the ‘destination’ field. You will then need to enter 9kg in the ‘parcel weight’ section and hit ‘enter’. You can then view the freight price for Courier, Express or Standard post.
- Courier (ECI) takes approximately 5 working days
- Express takes approximately 5-10 days
- Standard takes approximately 10-15 days Please note that there is no tracking service if sent by this option
Please note that we are happy to organise freight to almost anywhere in the world.
PLEASE NOTE: any customs/quarantine/import costs are the buyer’s responsibility. Furthermore, it is up to the buyer to take any extra insurance on the goods during freight if they wish to.
Once payment has been received and the goods leave the factory, they are the buyer’s responsibility.
